~Jesus...The Nurse and The Soldier~

On the battlefield the nurse stands over the wounded man
His cries ring out in agony and pain
She seeks to ease this battle weary soldier with her touch
Tears flood her eyes, she kneels beside him
Knowing he is mortally wounded she yearns to give him hope
Her thoughts rise to the One above, the Great Healer
And she prays that He would be merciful

Jesus looks down upon that same war torn field
He spreads His arms in love over the nurse and dying soldier
"Fear not, for I have heard your cry,
I see the agony of this young boy
Stay with him, give him the only hope that he has
Tell him of Me, tell him of My love for him
And that I have a place already prepared for him"

She takes his hand in hers and whispers softly
"Do you know Jesus?" she asks
"Let me tell you of the One who holds you in His hand
The One who has forgiven, who died for you
As you have given your life for others"
He reaches out and with his dying breath he says the words
"Father, forgive me, into Your hands I give myself

Take me in Your arms and bring me safely home"
With these last words, the young man closes his eyes
Peace upon his face, yet a last lonely tear brushes his cheek
The nurse kisses his blood stained face and knows
He is with the One who called, Jesus, the Mighty King
For He heard this young boy's cry
And in that cry of desperation....He answered..."Come Home."
